The Stories of Our Past
|
There is something exciting about old photographs and the stories behind them. I have a nice collection of old family photographs- some of them taken early 1900's.
I love to get my box of photos out to share with my family when they stop by. I treasure the stories behind them. It speaks to the best and most generous part of our human nature. To me, they are among my most treasured possessions. The thing that draws me to old photos is that every photo takes me to a different time and different place. Learning about the history is fascinating. It draws you closer to family and you learn so much more about yourself. |

Collage Drawing: Work in Progress
ART Theater
On November 1, 2019, the ART Theater had closed its doors. I knew many people who loved to spend an afternoon watching a good film there. I passed by the ART everyday on the way back and forth to work. I loved looking out the bus window and reading the marquee and I especially loved seeing the bright lights and the red glow, I did see a few films there. I wanted to draw the ART but selecting a time period was a difficult challenge. I decided to create a collage out of different images and use that collage as inspiration for a colored pencil drawing, You can see the stages of the drawing below.
